How Much Is A World Series Championship Worth To An Organization?

I have to admit I was really happy that the Giants won the World Series this year but I might have been even more happy to see Edgar Renteria save the day for the Giants and win the World Series MVP award. I have been holding off on sharing these relics until Edgar signed with the Giants again or went to another team...Edgar ended up heading to the Reds in a contract that can give him nearly four times his guaranteed salary based on his offensive production.

I was reported that the Giants offered Edgar a 1-year $1 million dollar contract which seems insulting even if Edgar was going to play short stop in a wheel chair. I mean how much is a World Series Championship worth to an organization?

I like Edgar, but I absolutely loathe what Walt Jocketty is doing with the Reds by building up a squad full of former Cardinals. Here's to hoping that he acquires the services of Mark Mulder, Mike Maroth, Kip Wells and Joe Thurston soon.
