This time of year is one of my favorites to be a card collector. It is in these glorious days of June and July when we learn if the new players that got off to a rocket start to begin the season can keep it up. We get to see if they are for real. And if they are for real it's time to break out the commons boxes and find those hidden treasures that didn't mean anything to you three months ago.
In 2009 it was all about finding those old Zack Greinke cards from when he was a 5-17 [in 2005] and not a Cy Young Award winner. This year, the search is for Ubaldo Jimenez and his 11-1 record and sub 1.00 ERA. I can't remember the last time I ever searched for cards for a Colorado Rockies player card but I was surprised to actually find a bunch [with some doubles]:
