Is anyone else as surprised as me that if Omar Vizquel has two above average seasons [or three seasons averging 115 hits a year] he will reach the 3,000 hit barrier and therefore [based on unwritten rules that we all agree on] an "automatic" Hall of Famer...Vizquel signed a minor league deal with the Rangers in January so this is far from certain but how great would it be for him to once be the ultimate example of the card no one wants [as seen on the Simpsons] to having as many hits as Roberto Clemente. Right now, Vizquel ranks 65th on the all-time hit list with only Ken Griffey Jr. and Barry Bonds as "active players" ahead of him.
