Everybody's Got A Record: Robin Yount Edition

**In this series we strive to prove the universal truth that every baseball player holds some kind of record.**

Robin Yount slugged the most hits (1731) of any player in the 1980s. Here's a breakdown of the players with the most hits by decade since the 1940's...the 1990's leader really surprised me:

1940's: Lou Bodreau (1578) [Remember here a lot of the elite players lost season due to service in World War II]
1950's: Richie Ashburn (1875)
1960's: Roberto Clemente (1877)
1970's: Pete Rose (2045)
1980's: Robin Yount (1731)
1990's: Mark Grace (1754)
2000's: Ichiro Suzuki (1996)

It's not technically a record so to speak but when Robin retired he was the last player to have played with Hank Aaron.  Robin and Hank were teammates during the 1975 and 1976 seasons.
